Headaches
More than 90% of American suffer from headaches. Of that 90%, 36 million suffer from migraines. Frequency and symptoms vary from dull and throbbing to painful and nauseating. Spinal manipulation can often treat tension headaches and headaches originating in the neck.
In 2001, Duke University released a report that found spinal manipulation led to “almost immediate improvement for those headaches that originate in the neck, and had significantly fewer side effects and longer-lasting relief of tension-type headache[s] than a commonly prescribed medication.”
If you suffer from a primary headache (i.e., not the result of another illness), a chiropractor can manipulate your spine or perform chiropractic adjustments to improve spinal function, relieving the tension in your system. Your course of treatment will also include suggestions on improving your diet, exercise, and steps to keep tension from building to excess.
